Best 3 Streaming PC Builds in 2020 & 2021

Best Streaming Gaming PC Build High End Builds

Streaming has grown exponentially the last couple of years thanks to eSports claiming mainstream status and services such as Twitch and Hitbox allowing users to stream at freewill. For this very reason we've decided to put an article together outlining a selection of custom PC builds which tailor specifically towards consumers wanting to get into the streaming business. A business which is now more lucrative than ever before.

The following guide is going to talk you through everything you need to know when building a streaming PC. Further to this, we're going to break down the main aspects of a streaming PC and explain why each area is specific to streaming needs.

We've gone for 3 builds which vary in price and performance in the hope that their is something for everyone. Nevertheless, the three things you can expect from all 3 of these builds is fantastic aesthetics, excellent FPS across all AAA game titles and solid value for money.

Even though this article is tailored towards streaming builds we never lose sight of our core values. Lets waste no further time and dive straight into the builds themselves.

Entry Level Streamer Build

If you're looking to get into streaming but don't want to take out a mortgage doing so, our entry level streamer build should bet the perfect choice for you.

At it's core you'll find a Ryzen's 5 2600X paired alongside Nvidia's 1660Ti which make a formidable partnership for the price. Across each build we tried to incorporate as much RGB as possible to improve on aesthetics. We were able to achieve this in the entry level by implementing the excellent Vengeance RGB pro RAM and MSI's B450 Tomahawk which both have solid RGB zones.

Overall we were really pleased with the final product and will serve any beginner streamer well long into the future.

Mid-Tier Streamer Build

The Mid-Tier build is what we consider as the sweet spot between price and performance. It will smash all your game titles at high-ultra setting whilst maintaining solid, steady FPS.

We decided to start this build with the Ryzen 7 2700X which is widely considered to be the go to CPU if you're looking to get the most bang for your buck. We've tried to future proof this build as much as possible by arming it with one of Nvidia's latest real-time ray tracing GPU, the 2070 edition. This not only supports you for future technological advancements but is also powerful enough to make the most popular games a breeze to play.

The Ultimate Streaming Build

This is by far one of the funnest builds I've been a part of thanks to the nature of the build. What we wanted to create was the ultimate gaming/streaming machine and I think we've achieved that nicely.

i9-9900K, 2080Ti, 32GB of rapid memory and a luxury level case are just some of the hardware components that make this build up. No longer will you have to worry about running the most demanding games in ultra settings, this build can do it all. Multi-tasking at the highest level becomes a breeze thanks the the hyper-threaded make-up of the CPU which has an impressive 3.6Ghz base clock.

Aesthetically this is one of the most attractive builds we've put together, it looks immense from every angle thanks to the sleek design of the case and the implementation of well thought over RGB options.

How We Choose The Parts

Piecing together builds is something we do here at WEPC on a regular basis, so creating 3 of the best streaming PC's was just another day in the office. How we decide which component best suits each specific build is a process we've done hundreds of times. It all comes down to 3 simple core values:

  • Value for money
  • Respected, trust worthy brands
  • Maximum performance

By sticking to these 3 values we know the end result will be something we're proud to recommend to you, the consumer.

Things to Consider

If you're considering building a PC specifically for gaming/streaming then you probably already have a pretty good idea of the things to look for when piecing together a build.

However, we're going to quickly outline the different areas of a build and explain how each one might affect you as a gamer/streamer.

A useful page worth checking out is out compatibility article which will let you know what parts can be paired and which can't.

The processor is as most will know, the engine of your build and one of the most important aspects of any rig whether it be a work station or a gaming build.

The first thing to consider when building a gaming/streaming rig is whether or not the CPU can handle the titles you aim to play at the desired settings. Luckily, a lot of modern games have been designed to take most of their running power from the GPU, meaning you can get away with a lesser CPU and still get solid results.

However, streaming is different kettle of fish entirely. Streaming requires multiple programs running simultaneously so you want to be looking at CPU's that are both powerful and multi-threaded.

All the CPU's in our builds are multi-threaded and score extremely high in this regard.

Graphics Card

The graphics card (GPU) is a gamers best friend, even more so now technology has shifted towards GPU demanding games. The best way to increase FPS, 9 times out of 10, is to upgrade the GPU you have. Annoyingly however, the GPU is the most costly aspect of a build to replace/upgrade so it can be pretty daunting to do so.

For this reason alone we've decided to equip each of our builds with the latest tech making them all extremely powerful and future proof for years to come. Each of the GPU's we have used is going to be able to handle AAA game titles at high specs and others at ultra.

We know the importance of a GPU and made it one of our priority areas with these builds.

RAM or memory, is a bit of an enigma when it comes to gaming/streaming builds. But as a general rule of thumb the more the merrier. Because streaming/streamers depend on multi-tasking and heavy work loads you really are going to need some quick RAM to help bolster up the performance power of the rig.

Specifically with the Ryzen chips, 3000Mhz+ memory will boost performance exponentially so it's pretty vital, to us, that we included this across all 3.

Storage Space

Storage space, whether you're a gamer, streamer or browser, has varying degrees of importance. Streamers usually require a healthy amount of storage because many will not only stream live but will save the file after to clip the best scenes of their session. It doesn't take long to fill up 250/500GB storage space when you're saving 5 hour-long streaming clips daily.

Capacity aside, load times are another essential area when it comes to storage. For this reason, we have equipped each of the builds with the latest SSD storage solutions which as many will know, dramatically increase load times. There's nothing worse for a streamer than having hundreds of people look at a loading screen. This certainly won't be an issue with the SSD's we've gone for in these builds.

I'd recommend checking out our SSD vs HDD page to find out more.

Lastly is the case. Many will think the case is a pretty mundane piece of kit unless you're specifically looking for something that is going to be really quiet. Well we don't think they're mundane at all here at WEPC.

Picture the scene, you're there in front of the camera, behind you is the gentle hum and raw presence of a gnarly looking build. Aesthetic appeal is pretty big for streamers and we can see why, they want to create the best environment possible for their viewers and one way of doing that is to splash out on a cool looking case, throbbing with RGB.

How (and What) We Tested

Testing the prebuilt gaming PCs is pretty much straightforward. We installed the following games and recorded benchmark results:

  • PUBG
  • Fortnite
  • Overwatch
  • GTA V
  • Rocket League
  • Battlefield 1
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • The Witcher III

Note: Some of the recent games such as Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Devil May Cry 5, Anthem, and Resident Evil 2 may need more power than what’s inside the most powerful one on the list. But can still be played with huge sacrifices in the graphics department.

We spent hours playing games just so we could test and see what each rig is really capable of. (Obviously, we have very hard lives.)

After playing hours of games and benchmarking the results, we confirmed that the Syber Domono can handle games in 1080p with a few adjustments to the game’s graphics settings.

The cyber is currently the only build in this list that makes use of an Intel chip, but make no mistake, the Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400g which the IBuyPower Enthusiast Gaming PC, the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop Computer, and the CLX Set Gaming PC use are powerful processors. They don't necessarily need a standalone GPU to be efficient thanks to AMD's VEGA graphics which is miles ahead of anything Intel has to offer.

Instead of stopping there, we decided to do some further testing... we hooked a GTX 1060 graphics card up to some of the picks in the list to see what kind of performance improvement we would achieve. To our surprise, the performance increase that was achieved turned out to be much greater than our initial forecast. Great news for those wanting to upgrade down the road.

Further to this, we decided to upgrade the RAM to 3,000Mhz in all the builds, the performance boost we saw from the Ryzen chips was massive. We can't recommend upgrading the RAM enough, the Ryzen chips are built to enjoy quicker memory and once you upgrade, you'll understand why.

Above is the majestic entry level streamer build, as mentioned above however, do not be fooled by the title we've branded this with. The entry level build is a monster in it's own right as far as price/performance and in game benchmarks are concerned.

At the heart of this build is the daring partnership of AMD's Ryzen 5 2600X chip and Nvidia's latest 1660Ti GPU. If you read our section above on what to consider when building a streaming/gaming build you will understand the importance of these two hardware components. The GPU is Nvidia's latest offering and is one of the best pound for pound cards on the market, you're going to relish high FPS on AAA game platforms thanks to this. The Ryzen chip is where the streaming side of things comes into play.

The chip is backed up by 16GB of rapid, RGB riddled, 3000Mhz RAM which we consider to be the perfect pairing when multi-tasking is one of the main agenda's. The RGB heightens the overall aesthetics of the build which is something a lot of streamers will crave.

The motherboard is the perfect selection for this build as it is considered entry level, but has enough features and compatibility to make everything in this build run in perfect harmony. It also looks sweet and has an RGB zone.

One area which was compromised due to budget was the storage solution. Usually we'd like to go for a hybrid storage offering which has both SSD and a larger HDD to accommodate both load times and media storage. unfortunately we were unable to do this, but we did manage to get a solid 500GB of SSD with rapid read/write times to make up for it.

The case glues this all together and is one that looks really attractive when paired with the subtle RGB components we have in this build. It comes with case fans but we'd recommend upgrading those down the line to improve overall aesthetics.

A really nice build which is going to smash out games and have enough power left to stream live and edit video content with utter ease. This being said, our mid-tier build is where things get really exciting.

The Mid-tier streamer build is where things start to get exciting, we get into the realms of endless possibility at this stage and no area is compromised due to budget. This being said we have stuck to a figure so let's waste no more time getting stuck into the meat of this great all round gaming/streamer build.

Ryzen's flagship AM4 chip is at the centre of things here, it's the 2700x and holds fantastic value for money thanks to it's solid performance benchmark's. Similarly to the 2600x, the 2700x has massive levels of overclocking potential which, if applied, will only boost the power of this build even more. The motherboard this thing sits on is purpose build to allow for extreme overclocking and paired with the cooler master CPU cooler you can ensure everything is going to stay icy cool.

The GPU is our top rated aftermarket 2070 and for good reason, it's a true FPS killer. It comes equipped with the latest ray tracing technology and AI enhanced graphics which means the content you stream is going to be head and shoulder above your competition. The RGB you get from the GPU, the RAM and additional cooling fans we've added is going to create a build that is going to look super impressive.

With all this tech you're going to need a solid power source, the EVGA 550w 80+ Gold is the perfect candidate for this position as you have ample amounts of power to overclock and remain totally stable. The case is the NZXT H500 and looks magnificent thanks to it's tempered glass and sleek black design.

All in all this is an extremely well rounded build which is going to smash the most popular game titles at ultra and give your viewing public one of the best experiences possible.

Finally, we come to the Ultimate. This build is an absolute beast. The only thing it can't do is rustle you up some eggs and bacon in the morning.

Just looking at the hardware list makes my current build squirm. Let's discuss what makes this build so potent.

The CPU is one of the highest-ranked processor's money can buy right now, it sits side by side with THE best 2080Ti available in today's market and shows clearly we aren't playing games (mind the pun) with this one. Our benchmarks suggest the 9900K is by far the best multi-tasking CPU out of all 3 builds and is the CPU that features in all our luxury top-spec builds. It's a stunning example of why Intel is the king of CPU manufacturing.

The GPU, on the other hand, is in another realm entirely. 11GB of GDDR6 memory makes this card one of the fastest money can buy. It's equipped with real-time ray tracing, AI-enhanced graphics and a new Turing architecture that Nvidia says is revolutionary to gaming. It will literally blow every AAA game now, and in the near future out of the water in ultra settings. It has a triple fan configuration which is hugely efficient in keeping noise levels and temperature at a minimum. A superb piece of technological engineering.

The motherboard is the MSI MEG Z390 Godlike which has been designed with performance and overclocking in mind. It is one of the MSI flagship boards and the latest addition to their LGA1151 chipset range. It was purpose-built to squeeze the absolute maximum level of performance out of the i9 coffee lake processors from Intel making it the perfect choice for our ultimate build.

The storage solution is, of course, a hybrid one, it consists of Samsung's impressive 970 EVO SSD and Seagates legendary Barracuda HDD to create 3TB of pure performance storage. The SSD is one of the best consumer-level solid-state drives available and boasts very efficient read/write speeds which make boot and loading times rapid. That's been backed up by an additional 2TB of Seagate's massively reliable Barracuda 7200RPM HDD. This is the perfect combination for any work station and fits into this build superbly.

The motherboard, GPU, RAM and case fans are all exquisitely branded with their own impressive levels of RGB which make this build look fantastic. Pair this with the brilliant Corsair 500D and you have one of the best-looking builds we've put together to date.

The RAM is 32GB of 3000Mhz DDR4 and makes multi-tasking a breeze at the highest level. The PSU is an 850W supply and is perfect for this build as it has more than enough to power to run the build, whilst still allowing room for overclocking multiple components.

Overall this build is not just a streamer/gaming build, it's the ultimate build for almost all purposes. We can't think of a real-world situation in which this build will excel to the highest level.

                                                        Final thoughts...

So there you have it, our top 3 streamer/gamer builds which make for an enjoyable, professional experience.

A few might say we could of done them cheaper, but in all honesty, we wanted to provide products which are going to be able to produce decent stream-ability. What I mean by that is, good FPS across a number of different games on decent settings, the ability to multi-task at a high level creating a seamless stream and cutting-edge aesthetics.

We feel like all 3 do this in varying degrees of ability and there is one for 3 different budget ranges.

What were you thoughts on our builds? Leave us a comment below letting us know exactly what you thought!

Hey, I was wondering if your budget allows it is there any point in using nvidia 3090 or similiar (cheaper options though) in the 3rd build or its just an overkill?

I’m a noob to PCs so I have a really basic question, are these builds for just streaming or can you play and stream at the same time on these?

Hi Brandon, these are for play and streaming – at the same time.

So, the RTX GeForce 11gb, is $2,300 🤦 So this build is definitely not $1500. Do you know of any cheaper options that would work just as good?

The MSI B450 is currently sold out like, everywhere? Do you guys have a comparable, compatible alternative?

The Gigabyte B450 AORUS M & ASUS Prime are both great alternatives

Hey guys,I love all the builds, but i was wondering if you guys have builds for two separate pcs, one for just gaming alone and the other solely for streaming from the gaming build. I would greatly appreciate any help you guys can provide.

Hi Amir, What sort of budget are you looking at? Even though most of these builds are geared towards gaming, a lot will be more than powerful enough to handle your streaming requirement.

Hey charlie, my budget is 8000- 9000 u.s. I would like the builds to specifically carry out it’s sole job perfectly please.i want to be able to run games with the powerful settings from the ultimate build and have the other pc stream from it with no problems. Do you think this two build setup would extend the overall life expectancy of the two systems since they wouldn’t be working as hard to try and do both gaming and steaming at the same time? Or would they both give me basically the same amount of use if i just built the ultimate build alone? Thank you for replying and have a great day!

Hi, you could try an RX 580 but I would aim for a 1660 Ti minimum.

On the best streamer build you have put 2 PSU’s and no CPU cooler. Should this not be changed? But otherwise i love your 3 streamer builds.
